Obituary of John W. Zuck, Sr.

John W. Zuck, Sr. age 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Trustwell Living in Joliet.

He was born December 23, 1933, in Ridgway, IL, to the late William and Julia (Keane) Zuck. On November 14, 1959, he married Dorothy L. (Grimes) Zuck in Joliet, IL and the two enjoyed 64 years of marriage until her passing January 6, 2024.

John was a veteran of the United States Army and a graduate of Joliet Junior College.  He worked as an security officer with the Illinois Department of Corrections retiring with the rank of Captain.

John is survived by his son, John W. (Therese) Zuck, Jr.; and his grandsons, Justin and Christopher Zuck.

He is preceded by his beloved wife; his parents; and two sisters.

As it was John’s final wish, cremation rites have been accorded. His urn will be laid to rest with his wife in her childhood home of Eldorado, IL.
