Obituary of Patsy R. Ruettiger

Age 93, of Joliet, Illinois passed peacefully, Saturday evening, April 20, 2024 surrounded by family at Lightways Hospice home of Joliet.

Born in Port Neches, TX, she was a long-time Lockport/Joliet area resident.  Member of Ingalls Park United Methodist Church, Hannah Circle, and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.  She was an avid bowler at Town & County Lanes when she was younger. Lately, Patsy enjoyed visiting the casinos.

Patsy is the beloved mother of Roxanne Wirt, Sandy Ficarello, Julie (Tom) Hlavacik, Greg (Betsy) Ruettiger and Carrie Ruettiger. Loving grandmother of eight grandchildren and great-grandmother of ten. Also surviving are her brother-in-law, Guy Van Cleve as well as several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband, Walter Ruettiger; parents, Cleveland and Ruth (nee East) Pickett; one son, Roger Bruce Ruettiger; daughter, Jennifer Susan Ruettiger; two sisters, Billy Sue Kane, Leah Gail Van Cleve and her furry friends, Gabby, Bones and Toby.

All friends and relatives are invited to gather for Patsy's visitation on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 4 p.m. until services begin at 7 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd (at Essington Rd) Joliet. 

Interment will be held privately.
