Obituary of David L. Perry

David L. Perry, age 87, of Morris, Illinois, passed away Monday afternoon, April 22, 2024.  He was born September 8, 1936, in Mound Township, IL to the late Winnie Gertrude and David Mills Perry.  David was raised in that area and graduated from Prairie City High School.  He earned a degree in accounting while serving his Country in which he dedicated 28 years in the United States Navy.


He is the beloved husband of Arsenia “Arcie” Perry whom he married June 1, 1994.  David is also survived by his brother, Kay (Ruth Ann) Perry; two sisters, Elizabeth O’Dell, and Diane Pfoser; Arcie’s family as well as many nieces and nephews.


He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, JoAnne (the late Howard) Calhoun; brothers-in-law, Frank O’Dell and Gene Pfoser.


David retired from Caterpillar Inc. after over 20 years of dedicated service.  After retirement, he enjoyed working in data processing at the Morris Hospital for 11 years.  His hobbies included playing softball, gardening, and being a Cubs fan.


All friends and relatives are invited to gather on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 1201 W. Rt. 6 (at Deerpath Dr.) in Morris from 8:30 a.m. until prayers begin at 10:00 a.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 600 E. Jackson Street, Morris.


Interment will take place privately at a later date.


In lieu of flowers masses or memorials in his name can be made to Immaculate Conception Parish.
