Obituary of Geraldine Huston

Huston, Geraldine M. (nee Elberts) Age 78, of Joliet, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle with cancer. Born February 2, 1933 in Joliet, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (nee Schreiner) Elberts. A graduate of St. John Grade School and St. Francis High School, she worked for the State of Illinois Department of Employment Security for many years. Geraldine enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, playing penny slots at the casino with friends and her sister, Ibby, and watching Nascar races. Survived by her five daughters, Georgia Geske of Joliet, Susan Huston of Joliet, Cynthia (Ken Chinderle) Huston of Wilmington, Sharon Jameson of Joliet, and Judith (Richard) Martino of Morris; seven grandchildren, Carrie (Darryl) Lab, Kelly Geske, Brittany Huston, Anna Jameson, Zachary Jameson, David Martino and Jennifer Martino; three great-grandchildren, Holly, Abby and Connor; one sister, Isabel "Ibby" Elberts; in-laws, Audrey (late William) Endrst, Russell "Mike" (Helen) Huston, Jane (late Raymond) Huston and Irene (late Buster) Huston; many nieces and nephews; and several dear and close friends. Preceded by her husband, Melvin D. Huston (1997); her parents; five brothers; two sisters, and two sons-in-law, Fred Geske and Robert Jameson. Funeral services for Geraldine M. Huston will be Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park.
