Obituary of Wayne L. Payette
Age 89, of Orland Park, Illinois passed peacefully at home, Sunday evening, April 28, 2024.
He was born August 9, 1934 to the late Vietta Mae and Leo Payette in Two Rivers, Wisconsin where he was raised and educated.
Wayne served his Country proudly in the US Army.
He is the beloved husband of Mary (Sedder) Payette; loving father of Debbie (Brian) Papesh; proud grandfather of Emily, Matthew, Allison and Joshua Papesh. Wayne was also the fond uncle of several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; son, Dennis Payette; brothers, Ron (Patty) Payette and Dennis Payette.
Wayne retired from Chemwaste after many years of service as a diesel mechanic. He was previously employed at Area Truck and Trailer.
Possessing a good sense of humor, he will be remembered for the occasional prank as well as his love of the outdoors. Wayne truly enjoyed camping, fishing, boating and long motorcycle rides.
As it was Wayne's wish, cremation rites have been accorded and his final earthly remains will be interred at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
All friends and relatives are invited to gather at the information center of Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 12:45 pm. Military honors followed by Committal Prayers will begin at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Wayne's name can be made to Lightway's Hospice of Joliet.
