Dr. Brad Immel, D.C.
Passed away at his home in Minooka, IL on August 5, 2011 following a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer with his family by his side at age 50. He was born September 1, 1960 in Mattoon, IL. He was raised in Minooka and was a Goose Lake resident for the past 25 years. He participated in continuing education for new techniques in chiropractic and was a specialist in manipulation under anesthetics. A graduate of National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, IL with a degree in Chiropractic, a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and five specialist degrees. He was a graduate of Joliet Junior College with an Associates Degree and Minooka High School Class of 1978 where he played football all four years and was Senior Class President. He was a member of the Illinois Chiropractic Association, National College Alumni Association, Chamber of Commerce, the Eagles Club, the Goose Lake and Coal City Area Clubs, and a member of the United Methodist Church of Minooka. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, who enjoyed bowling, golf, skiing and especially Morel mushroom hunting. Owner and operator of Morris Chiropractic which was opened in July 20,1986 and the Grundy County Pain Care Clinic.
Preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ralph and Esther "Mamaw" Hill; paternal grandfather, Woodrow Immel; and paternal grandmother, Elma (nee Jones) Babb.
Survived by his one daughter, Kelsey Immel of Fort Collins, CO; two sons, Matthew Immel of Wilcox, AZ and Alex Immel of Morris; his loving parents, Ted and Judith (nee Hill) Immel of Minooka; his beloved brother, Brian Immel of Portland, OR and fiancé Patty Kirby of Plainfield; one uncle, Randall (late Terri) Hill of Fairview Heights, IL; one aunt, Janice (Tom) Kidd of Mattoon and very, very special friends.
Memorial services for Dr. Brad Immel, D.C. will be Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Rev. Mary Zajac officiating. As it was Brad's request, private cremation rites will take place at a later date. Memorials in his name to Ted or Judith Immel who will disperse them to Hospice and Pancreatic Cancer research would be appreciated.
