Leticia Salinas

Age 55, of Joliet, Illinois passed away Monday June 10, 2024, at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, IL.  She was born August 14, 1968, to Ofelia (Castillo) and Blas Saldana in San Francisco Del Rincon, GTO Mexico where she was raised until moving with her family to the United States and settling in Joliet.

Leticia is the beloved wife of Joel Salinas; loving and devoted mother of Adolfo Blas and Sofia; dearest daughter of Ofelia and Blas; cherished sister of Martha Mascote, Alma Perez and Maricela Saldana.  She will also be missed by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins both here in the states, and Mexico, as well as all of Joel’s family.

Leticia was an accountant for several years at the former Empress Casino and previously was employed by Cigna Insurance Co. Her hobbies and interests included gardening, puzzles, reading romance novels, visiting the beach, and feeding and caring for animals.

She will be remembered for always smiling and being positive, no matter what obstacles came her way.  Her smile and sunny disposition will remain in our hearts forever.

Visitation for Leticia will be Monday June 17, 2024, from 1 – 8 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet.  Funeral services will begin Tuesday morning, June 18, 2024, 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian burial to follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church 404 N. Hickory Street in Joliet.  Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
