Obituary of Rebecca S. Bishop-Miller

Rebecca Sue "Becky" Bishop-Miller, age 78, late of Burbank, and formerly of Joliet, Orland Park and Manteno, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Burbank Rehabilitation Center, with her family by her side.

Born along with a twin sister on December 24, 1945 in Chillicothe, Ohio, she was the daughter of Frederick R. and Juanita (Davidson) Sigrist, and was a graduate of Jackson High School, in Jackson Ohio, with the Class of 1963.  She later attended Columbus Business College in Columbus, OH.

Becky enjoyed a rewarding career in the insurance industry beginning with Nationwide Insurance in Jackson, OH, in 1962, and working for them in Columbus, OH, Huntington, WV, and Orland Park, IL, as a district sales secretary.  Becky held an insurance broker's license and also worked as an insurance manager in automotive sales, and manager of an insurance agency.

She enjoyed being a mother and homemaker while her children were young and the career she loved most was being a Mom.

Surviving are her children, Scott Andrew (Annmarie) Bishop of Oak Lawn, Sarah (Victor) Rodriguez, and Josiah (Mindy) Miller; four grandchildren, Julia Bishop, Saydi Coveny, and Lacey and Mya Rodriguez; her twin sister, Roberta L. “Bobbi” (James “Cam”) Kirk; one brother, Fred R. Sigrist; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ronald Thomas Bishop and Joe A. Miller; her parents; and one brother, Alfred “Al” Sigrist.

A Memorial Gathering for Becky Bishop-Miller will be held Saturday, July 13, 2024, from 2:00 p.m., until the time of services at 3:30 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet.  Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to First United Methodist Church of Wilmington, 401 Kahler Road, Wilmington, IL 60481.
