Obituary of Donald Lee Forrest, Sr.

Donald Lee Forrest Sr., age 91, of Crest Hill, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born on February 15, 1933 in Chicago, the son of Harold and Lois (Paisley) Forrest.

Donald was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. He was a shipping manager at AMI before his retirement after 46 dedicated, hardworking years. He loved his dogs, especially spoiling them with treats.

Donald is survived by his son; Don Forrest Jr.; grandsons; Eric Forrest, Ryan Forrest, Kyle ( Johnelle) Forrest, and Brett Forrest; and great-grandchildren; Cameron, and Ryker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and sisters.

Funeral services for Donald Forrest Sr. will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet, where visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at 12:30 p.m. Interment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by the United States Army.
