Gloria J. Louch

Gloria Louch, age 95, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024 at Lightways Hospice in Joliet. She was born in Blue Island, IL on January 6, 1929.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert A. Louch (1999); her parents, Fred and Mildred (nee Wetherell) Gronwall; sister and brother-in-law, Janet (George) Frieling; and Luann’s partner, Mary Van Vlymen.

Survived by her cherished sister, Cynthia Gronwall; her loving children, Laurie (James) Richter of Combined Locks, WI, Robert (Dana) Louch Ryder of Loves Park, IL, and Luann Louch of Joliet, IL; her grandchildren, Ben (Melissa) Richter, Matthew (Elana) Richter, Meredith and Kristine Louch Ryder; great-grandchildren, Curtis and Callie Richter, Shira and Margot Richter;  and many loving family members.  She will also be missed by her canine companion, Phoebe.

Gloria was a graduate of Silver Cross School of Nursing with the class of 1949, and the University of St. Francis with the class of 1982. She retired from Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in 1991.

Visitation for Gloria J. Louch will be Sunday July 28, 2024 from 2 – 5 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd) Joliet. A time of reflection by her daughters and son will begin Sunday at 3:30 pm. 

All friends and relatives are invited to gather on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Queen of Apostles Parish, 18 N. Woodlawn Avenue in Joliet where Gloria’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.  Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name can be made to Lightways Hospice of Joliet or the Will-Grundy Medical Clinic.
