Carlos Arturo Medina

Carlos Arturo Medina, passed away early Wednesday morning on August 7, 2024, after injuries sustained in an accident.  Carlos was born on November 24, 1986, the son of Victoriano and Blanca Estella (nee Lopez) Medina Carrillo.  Born in Chicago and raised in the Logan Square neighborhood; he was still living in his childhood home.  Carlos was a graduate of Kelvin Park High School and was currently employed as a Union Electrician with the Chicago Transit Authority.

In his free time, Carlos loved to grill and cook. He proudly cared for his pet parrot named Jeffrey, a Macaw he had for over 8 years. He was a handyman and would often be found fixing his house. His children were his nieces and nephews. 

Carlos is survived by his mother, Blanca Estella (nee Lopez) Medina Carrillo; his siblings, Judith (Pedro) Lome, Mario (Irais) Carrasco, Nancy Medina, Thomas (Kimberly) Medina, Maria (Thomas) Medina Lynch, Gabriella (Daniel) Escutia, Victor (Dahlia) Medina; nieces and nephews, Lisette Lome, Leslie Lome, Victor Medina, Brandon Carrasco, Caity Carrasco, Mia Guzman, Thomas Lynch, Danny Escutia, Miguel Escutia, Katie Hernandez, Sebastian Ramirez, Angel Ramirez, Christian Ramirez, Chloe Favela, Jason Medina, Nicholas Escutia, Mason Medina, Jonathan Escutia, and Victoria Medina; great nieces and nephews, Makayla Muniz, Aimee Muniz, Alexander Reyes, and Aylah Reyes;

He is preceded by his father, Victoriano Medina Carrillo; his aunt, Evelia Rodriguez; and uncle, Hector Medina.

Funeral Services for Carlos Arturo Medina will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL.  Interment will follow at Clarendon Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m.
