Obituary of Helen Holderfield

Helen L. Holderfield, age 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at the Arc at Dwight. Helen was born in Whiteville, NC, on October 28, 1933 to the late Archibald L. and Anna Mae (nee Nobles) Bass. Helen was a true southern lady, and a devout Christian. Her life was the care and upbringing of her family, and she was a wonderful mother and loving grandmother. She will be greatly missed.

Helen is survived by her children, Marsha Coley and Gregory (Dorothy) Holderfield; her grandchildren, Amanda (Ryan) Hammons, Aaron (Elizabeth) Coley, Brandon (Jessica Aguilar) Coley, Frank (Jessica) Ramirez, Jennifer (Justin) Modro, John T. Holderfield, and Lily Ann Holderfield; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Howard (Gloria) Bass.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Holderfield (2010); her parents; granddaughter, Rebekah Ann Coley; great-great-granddaughter, Iris; brother, William (Carolyne) Bass; and sister, Dorothy (Clyde) Holder.

Private family services have been held, and Helen was laid to rest alongside her husband, John, at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Arrangements entrusted to the Fred C.
