James J. Massey

James J. Massey, age 50, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. Jim was born on February 2, 1974 in Joliet to Drusilla Visconti and James C. Massey, and he was a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of St. Raymond’s Catholic Grade School and Joliet West High School. Jim was an avid Chicago White Sox and Ohio State fan, and he enjoyed playing soccer.

Jim is survived by his mother, Drusilla (Visconti) Massey; his father, James C. (Beverly Moss) Massey; his brother, Mark Massey; former wife and good friend Kyle Massey; and cousins and lifelong friends Dave (Kim) Massey and Lynn (Bob) Basarich.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Carlo and Audrey Visconti; his paternal grandparents, Claude C. and Irene Massey; uncle, Claude D. (Patricia) Massey; and cousin, Claude B. (Chris) Massey.

Cremation rites have been accorded and the family will be having private services. Jim will be laid to rest near family at Woodlawn Memorial Park at a future date.
