Obituary of William R. Kramer
William Robert Kramer
It is with huge sadness we announce William R. Kramer, age 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the Lightways Hospice Home in Joliet. Bill was born to the late Carl and Margaret (Gorman) Kramer at his home on August 9, 1936. He spent his entire life living in Morris where he worked for the Morris Post Office until his retirement, then spent his time puttering around his yard. He was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church.
Bill was one of the most kind-hearted, selfless men that God put on this Earth. We feel so blessed he was put in our lives. He truly was an angel on Earth. Bill loved his family and felt spending time with them was time well spent. There was nothing else he would rather do. He always stated the best time of his life was going on vacations and fishing with his wife and two little girls.
Bill loved playing with all his grandkids, whether it was playing in the backyard, on the living room floor, or playing ball at Goodwill Park. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced. Holding and cuddling his babies made his heart melt. The smile on his face said it all!
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Carol (Flint) Kramer; his two daughters, Cindy (Mark) Peterson and Cathy (Al) Lipponeur; his 7 grandchildren, Eric Peterson, Jennifer (Peterson) McNabb, Sheena (Peterson) Schomig, Kyle Lipponeur, Kayla (Smith) Strain, Kelli (Smith) Voss, and Kelsey (Lipponeur) Hawa; his 13 great grandchildren; and brother Carl( Bud) Kramer.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Margaret (Gorman) Kramer and Carl Kramer; and his sisters, Margaret Harrington, Edith Hagy, and Mary Coates.
Funeral services for Bill Kramer will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris on Thursday, October 10, 2024, where the family will receive guests from 9:00 a.m. until the start of services at 10:00 a.m. As it was his final wish, cremation rites have been accorded, and Bill will be laid to rest at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Morris near his parents.
