Obituary of Marlene R. Doodeman
Marlene R. Doodeman, age 82, of Shorewood, passed away Monday, October 28, 2024, at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center Joliet, with her loving daughter by her side.
Marlene was born in Chicago, IL on October 16, 1942, a daughter of the late Sylvia (Markus) and Hyman Pollack. She married Bernard Doodeman on January 26, 1963, and they enjoyed 57 years of marriage until his passing on September 17, 2020. Her adored son, David Doodeman, also preceded her in death.
Marlene was the rock of her family and took great care of her husband and daughter. There was nothing she wouldn't do for them.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Cynthia Doodeman of Shorewood; one sister, Barbara (the late Ronald) Carlson; one brother, Garry (the late Nancy) Pollack; nephew, Michael (Desarez) Carlson and his children, Michael and Brooklyn; nephew, Brian Carlson; nephew, the late Steve (Karie) Carlson, and their children, Aimee and Victoria, and Christopher and Stephanie; niece, Kari, her daughter, Jennifer, and her daughters, Elle and Scarlet; and niece, Dawn, and her children, Karlee and Jake.
Visitation for Marlene R. Doodeman will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet. Entombment in Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (www.aspca.org) would be appreciated.
