I hope you find comfort and strength during this difficult time. I was deeply humbled and forever grateful when John Mezera appointed me Chief of Police. He had an extraordinary ability to see the best in others and elevate them to greater heights.
John's leadership, kindness, and unwavering commitment to his community will forever be cherished. He leaves behind a legacy of integrity and service that will continue to inspire us all. Please accept my heartfelt condolences and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I served as Village Manager in Romeoville during part of John’s tenure as City Manager in Joliet. He was always straightforward in his communications with me. He was a good Will County neighbor. John gave me some good advice about water and sewer utilities that served me well over the years. John will be missed. Prayers and condolences to the Mezera family.
