Mary Beth Diab

(nee Ross)

 

Mary Beth Diab, passed away peacefully at the age of 73, on Monday, November 4, 2024 in Hoffman Estates, IL.  Mary Beth was born in St. Cloud, MN, on March 27, 1951, the daughter of the late Roman and Rose (nee Weyman) Ross. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School in St. Cloud, MN and earned her Master of Music degree in piano performance at Wichita State University. Mary Beth was a Cathedral organist and pianist and was an instructor of piano at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL. She also served several years as the music and liturgical director at St. John’s the Baptist Catholic Church in Joliet, IL.  Mary Beth enjoyed spending time with friends, visiting her family in MN, and time with her children.

 

Mary Beth is survived by her two sons, Ramon (Snezana) Diab and Kahlil Diab; her daughter, Anna (Sean) Leheney; her granddaughter, Vivian Ninkovich-Diab; and her three sisters, Peggy Ross, Jeanne (Duane) Muhlbach, Karen (Chris) Ross-Brown. Mary Beth was godmother to Sam Ross-Brown. She is also survived by three nephews and three nieces. Numerous cousins also survive.

 

She is preceded by her parents Roman and Rose Ross; and the father of their children, Salim Moussa Diab. Mary Beth is also preceded by numerous aunts and uncles.

 

Visitation for Mary Beth Diab will be held at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.  Family and friends are invited to meet on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 404 N. Hickory Street, Joliet, where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.  Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. 

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
