Obituary of Lois M. Burton
Lois M. Burton, age 88, was called to her heavenly home on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Lightways Hospice Home in Joliet. Lois was born on January 19, 1936, in Hinsdale, IL, the daughter of the late Russell and Lydia Agnew. On September 24, 1955, she married Jean Burton, the two most recently celebrated 69 years of marriage. They were the perfect partners in the business ventures they operated. Lois was an accomplished quilter who loved sharing her masterpieces with friends and family. Lois was a huge fan of Charles Schultz and the Peanuts comics.
Lois is survived by her loving husband, Jean Burton; her daughters, Jill (Shawn) Hofstad of Grafton, WI, and Heather (Eric) Fox of Bettles, AK; her grandchildren, Nathan Simons, Joshua (Emily) Simons, and Seth (Caitlin McCorry) Bell; and her great-grandchildren, Camden Badois, Benjamin Simons, Charles Simons, and Louis Simons. She was preceded in death by her cherished brother, Russell Agnew, Jr.
Visitation for Lois will be Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. U.S. Route 6 (at Deerpath Dr.) in Morris. Funeral services will be the following day, Friday, November 15, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 101 Candlelight Ln., Morris. A celebration of life will also be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at the Morris Country Club at 1 p.m. Interment will follow church services at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Morris.
