Obituary of Richard A. Zeller
Richard A. Zeller, age 83, of Joliet, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center. Richard (“Dick”) was born on July 28, 1941, in Campus, IL, to the late Iliene A. (Reick) and Roy J. Zeller.
Richard served in the United States Army and was a proud member of the 101st Airborne Division. After his military service, his life’s work was in the construction industry where he founded JoMar Telegrouting, Inc. He had a profound impact on the industry and was widely respected by his peers. Richard loved the outdoors and took several fishing trips across North America, most notably to Nunavut, Canada. He enjoyed playing Pinochle with close family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Renee Orange of Plainfield and son, Richard J. (Kathy) Zeller of Wichita Falls, TX; four grandchildren, Kristi Orange, Anthony (Lauren) Orange, Shari Gossman, and Heather Gossman; grandchildren, Jordan Lamb, Enzo, Niko, and Troy Orange; brother, Larry (Lauren) Zeller; sister, Karen (late Donald) Hughes; several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Richard is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jacqueline M. “Jackee” Zeller; his parents; and brother, Sherwin “Butch” Zeller.
Private family services for Richard A. Zeller will be held Monday, November 18, 2024, with military honors held under the auspices of the United States Army.
