Obituary of Lenier Dulani Clayton
Lenier Dulani Clayton
Lenier Dulani Clayton, of Joliet, passed away tragically at the age of 30, on Monday, November 25, 2024. He was born in Olympia Fields, IL, on March 8 1994, the son of Mark Anthony and Lenora Denise Clayton. Lenier attended Lockport Township High School East and was currently working as a Forklift Loader with AAA Chicago South Auction House in Markham, IL.
Lenier was a people person. Always willing to help with whatever he could. He had an amazing smile, a contagious laugh, and his presence lit up every room he walked into. Always the life of the party! Lenier enjoyed listening to hip hop/rap music, and loved to dance. He had the biggest heart, and was the happiest, most jovial, kind, loving, and well-liked person you'd ever want to meet. Lenier also had an extraordinary gift for connecting with animals, earning him the affectionate title of “dog whisperer” by his mom. His gentle spirit drew all animals, great and small to him, and he found great joy in nurturing and caring for them.
Lenier worked hard and made a concerted effort to be the very best friend and family supporter he could be. Known for his competitive spirit and team-oriented mindset, he enjoyed playing in a volleyball league where he built strong friendships and cherished memories on and off the court. This world has lost an amazing soul, who will be truly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Lenier is survived by his mother, Lenora Clayton; two sisters, Mia Clayton and Maicie Clayton; three nephews, David Cowan, Christian Mobley, and Camden Martin; maternal grandfather, Bobby Joe Williams; paternal grandparents, George and Alma McGill; and his devoted canine companion, “Mac”. A host of aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
He is preceded by his father; maternal grandmother, Sandra Cotton; maternal bonus grandfather, Zorah Arthur Irons; and his maternal great-grandmother, Barbara Eppenger.
