Obituary of Robert M. Skerjan

Robert M. Skerjan, age 72, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. Bob was born March 27, 1952, in Joliet to the late Robert J. Skerjan and Shirley (Jacksa) Skerjan. He was a longtime Plainfield resident, before settling in Shorewood after retirement. On October 18, 1980, Bob married Sandra Jankowski and the two most recently celebrated 44 years of marriage. Bob earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Lewis University and he worked for many years as a C.P.A.  He loved spending time fishing, golfing, and he was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. However, his greatest joy in life was his family. He loved being a father and loved spending time with his grandsons.

 

Bob is survived by his wife, Sandra; his sons, Mark (Heidi) Skerjan and Michael Skerjan; his grandsons, Nikolas and Lukas Skerjan; his sister, Patricia (Bob) Behenna; his brother, Martin (Loretta) Skerjan; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert J. Skerjan; his mother, Shirley (Jacksa) Skerjan; and his stepmother, Norma (Facinelli) Skerjan.  

 

Visitation for Robert M. Skerjan will be Monday, December 16, 2024, from 4-8 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black (at Essington) Rd., Joliet.  Funeral services will be the following morning, Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Plainfield.
