Obituary of Marjorie R. Kublin
Marjorie Rose Kublin, age 81, of Bolingbrook, formerly of Aurora, passed away suddenly on December 24, 2024. She was born November 10, 1943, in Joliet, IL, the daughter of the late Ursula (nee Forno) and Louis Brusatte.
Survived by her husband of 57 years, Arnold S. Kublin; her loving daughters, Lisa Kublin-Adams and Maureen (Chris) Kublin-Heffernan; adoring grandchildren, Oliver, Ulla, and Innis Heffernan; sisters, Betty (Don) Boaz and Mary Ann (James) Alexa; and brother, James (Roxanne) Brusatte. Many nieces, nephews, and dear friends also survive.
She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Edward Barta; infant daughter, Stephanie Kublin; and sister, Dorothy (Bill) Mikuska.
Marjorie grew up in Joliet and was a graduate of St. Francis Academy. After graduation, she moved to Iowa, then to New Jersey, and back to Iowa before settling in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. During the Vietnam War, she was a civilian who worked with the US Army arranging travel for active service members and civilians. She was active with many groups which involved helping people. One of her favorite groups to volunteer for was DuPage PADS, through SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Naperville.
She enjoyed keeping up with her extended family. She was an avid gardener and loved to cook. She was a loving, doting grandmother and caregiver of her three grandchildren. She will be remembered for her friendly generous spirit and as a helper of many.
Visitation for Marjorie R. Kublin will be from 2:00-6:00 p.m., on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL. Funeral Services will be held at 9:15 a.m. on Monday, January 6, 2025, from the funeral home to Holy Family Catholic Church, 600 Brook Forest Ave., Shorewood, IL, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
