Obituary of Julia A. Arambasich
Julia A. Arambasich
(nee Madden)
Julia A. (Julie) Arambasich, passed away peacefully at the age of 92, on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family. Julie was born on November 20, 1932, the daughter of the late Edward and Pearl (nee Sprinkle) Madden.
Born and raised in Joliet, Julie was a graduate of Providence High School in 1950 and kept in touch with many of her classmates over the years, attending several class reunions when she was able. For many years, she enjoyed working at the Joliet Herald-News, where she made many friends and was always a dedicated, kind, and hard-working employee.
But first and foremost, Julie was the epitome of a perfect wife and mom, devoted to her husband, daughters, and four grandchildren. She was always there when they needed her, offering a kind word, a warm smile and a helping hand. Julie found happiness in knowing her family was well taken care of, and spending time with her family was always time well spent. Julie was equally devoted to her many siblings, calling them daily and visiting them whenever she could.
A talented homemaker, Julie was our “Martha Stewart.” She took great pride in her home, keeping it fastidiously clean and beautifully decorated. She was a wonderful gardener, a talented crafter, and an amazing cook and baker, preparing Sunday family meals long after her daughters were grown and married. Her homemade taffy apples were absolutely legendary!
Julie had so many other talents: she could play piano by ear, sang beautifully, and painted and wallpapered like a pro. Home projects of any kind kept her busy and happy. She especially loved decorating for the holidays, putting the perfect festive touches in every room of her home.
Julie was also a devout Catholic, who took great comfort in her faith. When she could no longer attend Mass in person, she watched a daily morning Mass on TV and prayed the rosary in the afternoon.
Julie is survived by her daughters, Tamra Williams and Debra (Michael) Robbins; grandchildren, Brian and Connor Williams, and Andrew and Kelly Robbins; and her sister, Patricia (the late Robert) Taylor. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
She is preceded by her husband, Richard “Dick” Arambasich; her parents; and her siblings, Lorraine Dirker, Bernadine Palmer, Edward (Ned) Madden, Nora Errek, Edna (Katie) Gruber, and John Madden.
Visitation for Julia A. Arambasich will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of prayers at 11:15 a.m., on Monday, December 30, 2024, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL, and will process to Holy Family Catholic Church, 600 Brook Forest Ave., Shorewood, IL, where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon.
