Stanley W. Jeriha
Age 91. Suddenly, Saturday, May 23, 2009, while on his walk following dinner, he was called home to be with the Lord. Born in Joliet, and a lifelong Joliet area resident. Attended Joliet Junior College and a graduate of Joliet Township High School. A U.S. Army veteran, retired from the Joliet Arsenal Department of Procurement after many years of service. A Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, member of Council #204. A life member of Cantigny VFW Post #367. His greatest loves were the Lord, his wife Anne, taking long walks, and playing golf in Arizona in his younger years.
Preceded by his wife, Anne C. (nee Nemanich) Jeriha (1984); one son, Gerald Jeriha (1956); his parents, Anton and Katarina Jeriha; and four brothers, August "Gus" (Marge), Robert Sr., Anthony and William Jeriha.
Survived by many nieces and nephews, and one sister-in-law, Bernice (nee Gregorich) Jeriha.
Funeral services for Stanley W. Jeriha will be Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Entombment Resurrection Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Misericordia Home or Joliet Area Community Hospice in his name would be appreciated. The Jeriha family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Ahsan and his staff, as well as Dr. Lewis and his staff for their empathetic, professional care.
