Obituary of Barry Johnson
Barry W. Johnson
"B.J."
Age53, of Coal City and formerly of Cicero, died peacefully at his home, with his family at his side, Thursday April 9, 2009. He was born January 6, 1956 in Bluefield, W. Va. to the late David "Eugene" and Josephine (Sudor) Johnson and was raised on the North side of Chicago.
He was a self-employed carpenter who wasn't sure what he enjoyed more about his chosen field, building or demolition. A jack of all trades, B.J. thoroughly enjoyed helping his grandkids with their building projects.
Beloved husband of 34 years to Linda (nee Medina); Loving father of Nicole "Nikki" (Jason) Lorentz and Tiffany (Rick) Kaeding. Proud Papa of Monica, Sarah and Tommy; Samantha "Samy Jo" and Erik. Dear brother of David (Maryann), Brenda "Peanut" (Curtis) Rachal, Kathy "Sissy" Johnson (Ronald) and Elizabeth "Libby" Lorence. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents and his nephew Patrick Chavez.
As it was his request, services and cremation rites will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name can be made to Joliet Area Community Hospice or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by:
