Obituary of Maurice Jones SR

Maurice Dean Jones, Sr. "Sam" Age 70. Monday, September 21, 2009 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born in Patoka, IL to the late Paul and Jane (nee Sprouse) Jones, he was a Joliet area resident since 1965, returning to Patoka four years ago. Retired from Chicago Bridge & Iron Company as a boilermaker, following 38 years of service. Sam enjoyed family and the outdoors, his passions were fishing and deer hunting. Survived by two sons, Dean (Lori) Jones of Shorewood and Scott Jones of Rockdale; grandchildren, Ashley, Samuel, Cody, Scotty Jr. and Marisa Jones; two sisters, Joan Quick of Patoka and Susie McKinley of Kentucky; one brother, Charles Jones of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Betty Carter, Jean Adams, Marilyn Quick, Janet Bates and Patricia Jones; one brother, Edward Jones; his mother-in-law, Betty Phillips; and father-in-law, Marion Phillips. A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Remains will be transferred to Day Funeral Home in Patoka, IL for extended funeral services and burial. Local visitation THURSDAY 4-7 p.m. at: FRED C.
