Obituary of Lester Jungels

Lester L. Jungels "Les" Age 78. Suddenly Sunday, November 16, 2008 at RML Specialty Hospital in Hinsdale. Born in Joliet and a lifelong Joliet area resident. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Captain of the Joliet Police Department, retiring after over 33 years of service. Member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Moran A.C. Preceded by one son, Raymond Jungels; his parents, Melvin and Crystal (nee Cherry) Jungels; one brother, James Jungels. Survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Barbara (nee Schaefer) Jungels of Joliet; one daughter, Jeanine Jungels; three sons, Jeffery, Michael and Thomas Jungels all of Joliet; one sister, Delores (late Clarence) Greenup of Plainfield; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services for Lester L. Jungels will be Friday November 21, 2008, 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Patrick Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Ray Graham Association for People with Disabilities or the National Alzheimers Association in his name would be appreciated.
