James Paul Jurkovich
"Jim"
Age 56. Passed away peacefully, Friday, December 21, 2007 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home after fighting a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Born June 5, 1951 in Joliet to the late John F. and Magdalen (Madarik) Jurkovich, he was a lifetime Joliet area resident. He graduated with the Class of '69 at Joliet Catholic High School and received a bachelors degree from Illinois State University in Normal, IL. Jim was a Security Guard for the following companies: Initial Security, Intertech Corp., Burns Security and Pinkerton Security; throughout his career, he was assigned to Spiegel Westmont Data Center, General Electric Nuclear Energy Storage Plant and Dresden Nuclear Power Plant, and Diageo Global Supply. He enjoyed reading and was a very loyal, dedicated Cubs fan.
Beloved husband of 31 years to Estella (Garcia), and a very loving and dedicated brother to Sylvia (Roger) Yanule and Celesta (Lyle) Schwartz. He was also the fond nephew of Mary Ann Bajt, Ione Madarik and Joyce Madarik. Many cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents and many aunts and uncles.
Funeral services for James P. Jurkovich will be held Friday, December 28, 2007, 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Matt Summers officiating. Entombment Woodlawn Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jim's name to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated. Visitation Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at
