Obituary of John Kane SR

Kane, John Joseph, Sr. "Jack" (J.J.) Age 83. Passed away peacefully December 22, 2011 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home with his family by his side. Born February 23, 1928 in Joliet to the late Cecelia (nee Boylan) and Joseph Kane. He attended St. Patrick Grade School and was a graduate of Joliet Catholic High School Class of 1946. A U.S. Army veteran. He retired from AT&T (Illinois Bell) as a Communications Technician after 45 years of service. Jack was formerly employed at the Joliet Herald News. Member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Beloved husband of 41 years of Ann (nee Murdock); loving father of John (Jen) Kane, Jr., Timothy (Christie) Kane and Michael Kane; grandfather of Jack, Charlie, Ellie and Braden; Bailey and Ryan; also survived by two brothers, Dr. Thomas (late Merrily) Kane and Dr. Robert Kane; one sister, Mary Cele (James) Doyle; 35 nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and many dear friends. Preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Dr. James (late Rita), William, Richard and Gerald Kane; one niece, Kathleen Piercy. Funeral Services for John Joseph Kane, Sr. will be Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 8:45 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Interment St. Patrick Cemetery.
