John W. Keto, Jr.
"Jack"
Age 79. Monday, October 22, 2007 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Joliet and a lifelong Joliet area resident. A graduate of St. Mary Carmelite Grade School and Joliet Catholic High School Class of 1946. A decorated United States Army Veteran of the Korean War, he served with the Military Police. Retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company after over 32 years of service. Member of the IAMAW Union. He was a volunteer at Silver Cross Hospital for over ten years. Member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, and a member of the Holy Name Sepulchre Society. He also served his church as an usher, with many other administrative duties. Former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed fishing and camping. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and will be deeply missed.
Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise (Loetscher) Keto (1994); one great-granddaughter, Alana Joyce Frost (2006); his parents, John, Sr. and Rose (Sears) Keto; two sisters, Jeanette Mufich and Marjorie (Francis) Burns; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law have all gone before him.
Survived by one daughter, Patricia A. (Jimmy B.) Carmen of Florida; three sons, Michael J. (Jodi Lehner) of Joliet, Anthony L. (Donna Nurczyk) of Shorewood and Raymond F. (Ella Martin) Keto of Joliet; seven grandchildren, Heather (Ken) Magrow, Christopher Tallarita, Cameron Keto, Teresa (Bryan) Campbell, April (Roger) Frost, Paul Keto and Andrew Keto; five great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Helen (late William) Ludtke; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services for John W. Keto, Jr. will be Friday, October 26, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Memorials in his name to Joliet Area Community Hospice or St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church would be appreciated. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park, where full military honors will be accorded. Visitation Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at:
