Obituary of Ernest Kettelson
Ernest S. Kettelson
Age 86, of Minooka, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2011 at Holy Family Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Des Plaines, with his family by his side.
Born November 9, 1924 in Morris, he was the son of the late Samuel and Ella (nee Murley) Kettelson.
Survived by his wife, Diane (nee Honig) Kettelson; four daughters, Gwen (Thomas) Sieben, Greta (David) Hess, Gayle Kettelson, and Glenda (Kyle) Granowski; one son, Keith Ernest (Rose) Kettelson; four grandsons, Johnathon Kettelson, Alexander Granowski, Zachariah Granowski and Joel Hess; and three granddaughters, Monica Kettelson, Heather Hess, and Elizabeth Granowski; brother Sheldon (Fran) Kettelson and sister Doris (James) Pittman.
"Ernie" was a veteran of the United States Army during World War II, serving in Okinawa and occupied Japan. He attended St. Olaf College and was a graduate of Northwestern University and Chicago Kent College of Law. His private law practice included general , patent, trademark and copyright law for over 50 years. He was a member of the American Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association and Florida Bar. He was also admitted to practice before the United States and State of Illinois Supreme Courts, various appeals courts and the United States Patent Office.
He spent 58 wonderful years married to Diane, whom he married September 6, 1952 in Brookfield, IL.
He was a devout Christian, active in Edison Park Lutheran Church of Chicago, Plattville Lutheran Church of Minooka and lately as a member of Hope Lutheran Church of Shorewood.
Funeral services for Ernest S. Kettelson will be Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, 305 E. Black Road, Shorewood, IL 60404. Interment Plattville Lutheran Cemetery, Minooka. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hope Lutheran Church, the Multiple Schlerosis Society, or for the family's wishes would be appreciated. Visitation SATURDAY MORNING from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. Arrangements by:
