First, I must state how much the Brocketts have meant to me - especially during my youth. I was particularly close to the boys. When my family left Joliet for Phoenix one of the hardest things I had to accept was that I was no longer going to be able to "play" with them as had been a frequent occurrence. Ken, Ron, Bob, Chris & Jim, thanks to all of you for the wonderful memories. Kathy, Laurie and Jennifer, God bless you for loving and caring for your parents during their final years. Like my own sisters, you were an incredible blessing to your parents.
Aunt Mae was one of the most loving and dedicated people I have ever known. I recall how she would be out hanging clothes on the line one minute and the next she was over assisting Grandma and Grandpa with something. She and Uncle Ken chose to build next door to Grandma & Grandpa so that they could be nearby to help them out. This tells you something of the quality of their character. She endured a great deal of trials and difficulty with such a large family and I am convinced that she loved each one of her kids and grand-kids with a level of intensity that is rare today. I am honored to have been one of her nephews. She and Uncle Ken made a model couple.
Before moving to the country next to Grandma & Grandpa's, the Brocketts lived in Joliet not too far from where we lived. As such, we were able to visit fairly frequently. The house they lived in was pretty small for such a large and growing family. But Aunt Mae always seemed to keep things going. Broken bones and health issues never seemed to slow her down. Her focus was unwavering. And while like all moms, she constantly had to deal with many problems, she never lost her sense of humor or that wonderful smile.
Aunt Mae, we will miss you very much. It will not be the same, if/when we come back "home". May God grant you the glorious reward you so richly deserve. And may you be so happy in returning to company of your parents, brothers, sisters and especially your beloved husband. We will see you later.

Aunt Mae was truly loved by all who were blessed to have her in their lives. She led by example, and lived her life in a way that radiated light and love towards all. Her unwavering faith and devotion to her Savior throughout her life was amazing. We are better for having known her, and know that Heaven has gained a beautiful angel. Our hearts go out to all of you as you deal with yet another death in your family. It's good to know that Aunt Mae is now celebrating with Christ and no longer suffering, but that doesn't stop you from missing her. We pray God will continue to comfort and strengthen you as you move forward, one day at a time.
