Obituary of Mabel Brockett

Mabel I. Brockett (nee Hibner) "Mae" Age 80, of Morris. Passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the Morris Healthcare & Rehab Center. Born November 10, 1932 in Elwood, IL to the late Francis Kurtz Hibner and Ruth Hazel Christensen. She married Kenneth M. Brockett on December 21, 1952 in Joliet. He preceded her in death on December 10, 2007. Mae is survived by her children Kenneth A. (Vicky), Kathleen (Rev. David) Cunsolo, Ronald (Linda), Robert (Jeri), Christopher (Cathy), Lori (Steven) Thomas, James (Mary) and Jennifer (Douglas) Maier; proud grandmother of 18 and great grandmother of many; sisters Millie Garland and Ida Canaday; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband; grandsons, Andrew Brockett, Sr. and Kenneth J. Brockett; parents; and siblings, Edna Weltmeyer, Ruth Pehlke, Eldon, Francis, Dwight Hibner and Sarah Wachs. Mae enjoyed flower arranging, gardening and just being around family. She attended Joliet Township H.S. and was employed as a secretary prior to marriage. She was a wonderful woman whose kindness and gentle spirit will always be remembered. Funeral services for Mabel I. Brockett will be Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with Rev. David Cunsolo officiating. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
