Obituary of John Pappas

Pappas, John H. Age 70, of Morris, and a former long time Tinley Park, IL resident, passed away peacefully, yet unexpectedly, in his sleep, Saturday, September 14, 2013. Loving companion and dear friend to Barbara O'Connell; beloved father of John (Nicole) Pappas, the late Lisa Pappas, Jason (Cara) Pappas and fond dad to Brett (Norine) O'Connell, Bridget (Steve) Echols and Brooke (Paul) Galassi; dearest grandfather of Alissa and Brayden; Cody, Katie, Conor, Leah, Lucy, Leo and Lily. Preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joan and his daughter Lisa. John, a retired meat cutter in the retail grocery industry, led an active lifestyle. He enjoyed the outdoors, most especially biking, running, and fishing-he was known as "the Bassman". He was in excellent shape, and as his sudden death has certainly overwhelmed us, we take comfort in knowing he left this life with no struggle or pain, just simply passed on. As it was John's wish, cremation rites have been accorded and a private family gathering was held. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name can be made to your favorite charity.
