So sorry to hear of Aunt Nancy's passing, she was a wonderful woman, wife, mother and grandmother. We enjoyed our time with her, sending our love to all of you......... 143
Nancy;
I want to thank you for welcoming me into your family with open arms. I have only known you for the past 6 years a short time in the game of life but I truly enjoyed the time spent mostly talking about your time raising your thirteen children. I came from a small family and had a hard time understanding how you raised all of those kids but I thank you as I intend to keep making your youngest happy for the rest of our lives. Rest in Peace you will be missed and never forgotten.
Sadly I never got to know Nancy as well as I would have liked after my daughter Julie married her son Joe in 2002. What I can say is that I admired her after our first meeting. She was obviously a strong and faithful woman. She had characteristics that made me understand why she was successful at raising such a large family. I recall her saying that if God would have blessed her with more children she would have welcomed them with open arms. She was a very special person.
I remember Joe and I had only been dating a very short time when he took me to his parents house in Joliet. I knew then that this was a good sign. There is always something to be said about a son's love for his mother. I knew very early on how much Joe loved his. I have my own very special memory of a time that Joe and I spent with his Mom and Dad. We had taken them to Maggiano's for lunch one day and shared a bottle of wine with them. It must have been the Frank Sinatra and the Chianti, because I learned so much about Nancy that day. Until we are all reunited in the kingdom of Heaven...
Some of the fondest memories I have are from Grandma when she lived in Florida with and around us. First, a few bugs in your rice are no big deal. The pressure cooker will take care of them. I still can hear her spinning the pressure release. Second, pray at least three times a day. Third, there is nothing worse than cold feet and hands. Fourth, family first and everything else will work itself out. 1-4-3 Grandma.
Grandma, you will be dearly missed. You made the best slippers, hats, & scarves, and I will miss getting your post cards in the mail. We will miss you but I am happy you are finally reunited and at peace with Grandpa, Gerard, & Karl. 1-4-3
I love you, MOM!
I will miss you dearly, but I'll never forget your voice, the memories that we shared(we laughed & we cried), the stories that were told over the years. You & Dad will be always cherished in my heart forever. Thank you! mom for being there for all us, throughout the years.. with love, Majella
Grandma, I'm going to miss receiving all those slippers, hats, and scarves every year for Christmas. I'm going to miss receiving those hand made cards you made for Erica, Simon and me for our birthdays, Christmas, Thanksgiving, St. Patricks Day, and all the holidays. You are one of the strongest people I've ever known. I wish I could of said one last goodbye to you. You're finally reunited with Grandpa, Karl, and Gerard. Gone, but never forgotten. 1-4-3.
When I first saw the picture in the obituary, I thought how beautiful she was. But then I thought that's because she was such a beautiful person who deeply loved her God, her family, her friends, her animals and her knitting of gifts for others. She was a genuinely good person that I loved very much and will miss greatly. I feel honored that God let her be a part of my life. I love you Nancy - "1-4-3"
