We are thinking of all the great memories of Uncle Keith, particularly today as the family gathers for his memorial in Illinois. It will be so nice to reconnect again this summer in Canada, to share our stories of Keith and celebrate his life together. Our prayers are with you all today. Love Rebecca and Cindy

Keith was a brother-in-law and friend to me and my husband Kevin, and much-loved uncle to our children, Sarah, Douglas, James and Steven. We had many great family holidays together through the years of raising our families. Keith and Jo-Anne always gave us a warm welcome when we showed up at their home...kids, dog and all.
When I heard about Keith's interest and avid involvement in radio operating, I recalled perhaps his first experience in that field. It was on a memorable camping trip to Prince Edward Island. Our two families were travelling in our vehicles in tandem, both towing trailers and packed to the hilt.
We (I?) decided it would be a good idea for the McAlpine family to have one of my son's new Fisher Price Sonic Ranger walkie-talkie headsets in their car and the other in ours. This was around 1990--no cellphones, remember? Stuck in gridlock on the highway through Montreal was a good time to make use of them. So there was Keith, with his carload of family and camping gear, sporting his Fisher Price headgear, and my husband doing the same in our car. We received some curious and amused glances from fellow motorists as Keith and Kevin communicated about the traffic situation over the excited chatter of seven children on the first day of a fun adventure.
Keith was a good sport and a cherished member of our family.

I have been thinking of times spent with Keith when we were young ... fixing the Rambler, being up at the cottage, his trademark upturned stetson. Card games ... of course ... that's how Alice first met the McAlpine clan. Keith consistently modelled his interest in others, and his gift for accepting them where they are.

I really enjoyed having Keith for a brother-in-law. He was congenial, laid-back, with an easy sense of humour, and made me feel welcome as a part of my husband's family. Thank you Keith. I will really miss you.

We couldn't have been happier when Keith joined our family as Rhonda's husband. Keith was always a gentleman, with a wonderful smile and a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed. Our hearts go out to his children, and especially to Rhonda, who has been at Keith's side since he was diagnosed with this devastating disease 13 months ago.

I'm so sorry to hear of Scotts passing. The last time I saw him was in June at one of his hobbies. I took a picture of him setting up his antenna. He was so happy and having a good day. He will be missed by many. I'm sure he will enjoy his hobbies in heaven.

Keith was a good friend. He was respected by all that had the honor of meeting him. I first met Keith a couple years ago, being a part of the IRL which he was the Vice President of. Keith opened many Amateur Radio operators Eyes to new Technology and enjoyed teaching us all, what he had learned or discovered. He was dedicated to helping out, at many events and enjoyed being a part of Amateur Radio. He had made an impact on many peoples lives. My Daughter who Keith encourage to get her Amateur license at 11, when she heard of his passing, Said, He was a great person who showed her respect and she felt like he was a close friend operating the radio with him by her side at events. Thank you Keith for the impact of all the lives that you came across and left a footprint that will be legendary in the Amateur Radio Community.
