Fredrick George Wilhelmi
Age 92, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at his home.
Born in Joliet, he was a lifelong resident. A member of the Joliet Antique Auto Club, the Joliet Chapter Model A Club, the Will County Threshermen's Association and Joliet Squares Square Dance Club. He was also a member of the Church of St. Jude and the Will County Farm Bureau. Former member and secretary of the Laraway School Board for 17 years.
Fred farmed and raised dairy cattle in Joliet Township for many years, and was also a Chemical Technician for Olin Chemical Company for 16 years, retiring in 1981.
Survived by his loving wife, Naoma G. (nee Glasscock) Wilhelmi; three children, Alan F. Wilhelmi of Pacifica, CA, Douglas G. Wilhelmi of Weaverville, NC and Sharon Wilhelmi of Fremont, CA; seven grandchildren, Erika Wilhelmi, Jeremy and Amy Kaskowitz, Fred and James Wilhelmi, and Sheila and Katerina Wilhelmi; three great-grandchildren, Trinity, Jace and Dakota; two sisters, Norma (John) Rourke and Carole (late Bill) Holsinger; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents, Fred C. and Celia (nee Freis) Wilhelmi; one daughter, Marcia, in infancy; one brother, John "Jay" Wilhelmi; one sister, Rita Gould; and two infant siblings, Donald and Annette.
Funeral services for Fred G. Wilhelmi will be Monday at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, to the Church of St. Jude for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
