"Jerry"
Jerry Burns, a devoted follower of Christ, died suddenly, Monday June 29, 2015 as a result of an automobile accident. He was born August 21, 1956 in Joliet to Wilfred and Dorothy (nee Curry) Burns. He graduated from Joliet West High School Class of 1974. Jerry was a dedicated employee of AT&T for 37 years.
Jerry enjoyed playing guitar with his girls and camping with his family. He and Sara shared the love of the outdoors, enjoying special times fishing together. In addition to being Abby's biggest fan in softball, he also trained her to be the player she is today. Jerry was his pup Maggie's best friend. He was a die hard Cardinals fan and a lifelong Cheesehead.
Survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Sally (nee Ericksen) Burns; loving daughters, Sara and Abby; siblings, Kay Cavallero, Mary Burns, Tim (Judy) Burns, Judy (Jack) Fordonski, Michelle Burns, Pat (Daryl) Walker, Tom (Cindy) Burns and Molly (Mark) Snodgrass. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Bev (late Robert) Brophy and Donna Johnson.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 9 a.m. until the services begin at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church, 455 W. Southmor Rd. in Morris, IL.
