I remember fondly Mr. Gruben watching our JCHS football practices. We knew he was a great player in his day. I know that he smiled when Ralph ran back the 100 yard punt against Immaculate Concepcion in 1968 - a record that still stands and Joliet Catholic High School. He usually chomped on his cigar when he watched football practice.
Uncle Ralph, you will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved you. There is a hole in my heart and a void in our family that cannot be filled without you. Yet, I know there is rejoicing in heaven, as you are with Aunt Lorraine and the Gruben clan again. I know you are at peace. I pray that your family can feel your love beaming down from heaven to ease the pain of their loss. How lucky we were to have had you in our lives!
I extend my heartfelt sympathy to the Gruben family. May those precious memories of your dear loved one Ralph be foremost in your hearts and minds along with this wonderful promise that Jesus made at John 5:28,29. Again, my sincere condolences.
