Obituary of Kenneth Delrose
Delrose, Kenneth L.
Age 81, a lifelong Joliet resident, passed away Friday, December 11, 2015 at home.
He was born November 15, 1934 to the late Helen R. (nee Smith) and John J. Delrose. He attended St. Mary Carmelite grade school and graduated with the class of 1952 from Joliet Catholic High School. Ken attended St. Mary's University prior to joining the U.S. Army and serving his Country during the Korean War era.
Left to cherish his memory are his six children: Danielle (Bill) Oeding, Dina (Steve) Bryce, Deb (Scot) Kalchbrenner, Darcee (Mike) Synoracki, Domonic (Tanya) Delrose and Donna (David) Stolarek. Thirteen grandchildren: Patrick (Melanie) and Rachel Hurley; Jake and Tyler Bryce; Sam and Alex Kalchbrenner; Camden Synoracki; Gavin and Lucia Delrose; Daniel, Cassidy, Brennan and Savannah Stolarek. Sister, Frances Delrose. Sisters-in-law, Bonnie Delrose and Dolores "Toots" (Tom) Guice. Several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife Rita (nee Sadler); parents and brother David Delrose.
Ken retired from Equitable Life Assurance Society after 43 years of dedicated service to the company and his clients/friends. He was an active member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society, serving the parish and school in various capacities over the years. Other memberships included VFW Cantigny Post #367, Knights of Columbus, council #4400 and a retreat captain for 37 years at the Jesuit Bellarmine House in Barrington, IL. In later years, Ken was very proud of his involvement with the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Memorial Squad and being a local organizer of the Public Square Rosary, an annual worldwide honor to Our Lady of Fatima. Ken was a lifelong Diehard Cub Fan member and always believed "this is our year."
A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 2 - 6 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet. All friends and relatives are invited to gather Monday December 21, 2015 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 127 S. Briggs St. from 11:00a.m. until a Memorial Mass is celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Inurnment with full military honors will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. In lieu of flowers, Memorials in his name to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Memorial Squad, Joliet Area Community Hospice or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
