Dear Family and Friends of My Shipmate Joe Worland. I was honored to meet and celebrate the US Navy WWII hero, Joe Worland representing Joliet Area Community Hospice Pride Honor Dignity Veterans program.
I was truly amazed by Joe and his personality, and astounded by his full and complete life after the war. Joe, my Shipmate has left his wonderful family an outstanding legacy to follow in his footsteps. Thanks for the opportunity for me to share Jos life.

SO sad to see this, but Uncle Joe lived an amazing life. Joe and I really connected when I was in HS at SFA and he found out I played tennis! He not only asked me to join him in a match, but then with 2 other older guys for a doubles match. I giggled as I showed up for the first time to play them - thinking how easy it was going to be to win against these "old guys!" HA!!! Was I wrong - after playing tennis and taking lessons for years - I had never experienced a work out like that! Well long story short, The Worland Competitiveness came out in me, and I started playing more often with these chaps, and almost daily with one. My game was never better! Thanks Uncle Joe for the invite and good times - it changed my life. Looks like I will have to pick up my racket again and start over in your honor....prayers for all the family. Love, Cami
