He also taught tennis at Joliet Tennis Club, Lockport Racquet Team, and coached tennis at Lewis University for one year. He was also an avid square dancer and ping pong player. He married the love of his life, Helen Louise (Kachelhoffer) Worland, and together they raised their family in Romeoville and Plainfield. Helen preceded him in death in 1987. Joe retired to Arizona where he lived until returning to Romeoville six years ago.
