Obituary of Roberta A. Hannon

Roberta A. Hannon (nee Tyska) Age 70. At Rest Monday, April 24, 2017 at Presence Villa Franciscan. Born in Chicago, residing in Shorewood since 1972. Graduate of Niles High School, Class of 1963. Received her Master's Degree in Library Science in 1985 from Rosary College. Employed as a Library Administrator for the Wilmington School District retiring in 2012. Member of Holy Family Catholic Church, serving her church as a Lector. An avid reader who enjoyed outdoor activities, including hiking and biking, but most enjoyed spending time with her children and grandson. Survived by her loving children, Jamey Hannon, Jared Hannon and Jordan Hannon; her grandson, Jacob Hannon; one brother, Art (Roni) Tyska; longtime companion, Bob Schmitt; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded by her mother, Mary Tyska and her cousin, Butch Janas. Funeral Services for Roberta Hannon will be Friday, April 28, 2017 at 10:45 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home Chapel, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet to Holy Family Catholic Church, 600 Brookforest, Shorewood where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to any Wilmington or Shorewood library would be appreciated.
