To the Mr. Maurer Family,
It is with a broken heart that i extend my sympathies to you all. Mr. ( Mrs.) Maurer was like my 2nd Dad for the past almost 48 yrs. of my life, which is my whole life time. We go way back from the Knights of Columbus, where My Dad, George and "Little" Mr. Maurer and "Big" Mr. Maurer, all served together. We called them Big and Little just for the distinction of whom we were talking about.
I have lots of fond memories of him and his parents, as well as Mrs. Maurer. Many trips i went in their car to the K of C hall after a communion Sunday Mass, sat with them and many visits with them there , their home as well as his parents. "Little " Mr. and Mrs. Maurer, lived around the corner from my Grandparents George and Anne Dehm(Hutchens St.). There were many times he would stop and visit with me when i would cut their grass. They also came to my wedding 22 yrs. ago and that was VERY special to me. I WILL MISS HIM AND MRS. MAURER, VERY MUCH !!! He is now with Mrs. Maurer, whom he longed to be with again, as well as my Dad. I can here the conversation now. "What took you so long, Daryl?"," You know, those guys aren't doing the things right the way we were trained". " Do you think they can carry on like we did?" and on and on.
May you all know that they all were a blessing to me and my family !!! They are all missed and will still hold a special place in our hearts !! He is now reunited with Mrs. Maurer, whom he longed to be again with after her passing. We had many visits in Morris @ Walnut Grove. It seemed @ times we were back in the GOOD OLD DAYS when i was growing up.
Mr. Maurer, I will miss you, but know you are where you need to be !!! I am sorry i can't be with you all as you lay him to rest, but have obligations with my family, that i can't rearrange, to be there. It breaks my heart, but i know Mr. Maurer knows how much i loved him and that if i could be there, i would.
Rest well, my friend and give Dad hugs and kisses from me, as well as saying Hello to Mrs. Maurer and your Mom and Dad too.m I WILL MISS YOU VERY MUCH AND THANKS FOR THE LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP YOU GAVE ME !!! Until we meet again.
The rest of my family(Dehm) will miss you too.
Saddened, YOUR GIRL,
Sheila Marie Urton
