Daryl F. Maurer

Daryl F. Maurer, age 92, of Joliet, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Illinois Valley Community Hospital, Peru.  Born January 16, 1925 in Peru, he was the son of the late Lester and Elsie (Kuetzer) Maurer.  Daryl was a proud World War II Veteran of the United States Navy, and worked as a truck driver for many years.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth (nee Reese) Maurer in 2009.

Graveside services for Daryl F. Maurer will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017, at 2:30 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, where military honors will be accorded by the United States Navy and the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Memorial Squad.  Fred C.
