Dirk Connor

Obituary of Dirk R. Connor

It is with broken hearts family and friends will gather for a final visitation of our beloved Dirk Connor who passed away unexpectedly on January 8, 2018.

Dirk was born to his parents Robert Connor, who preceded him in death, and Carol Kananga on November 12, 1956; he was raised in New Lenox with his younger sister Dara Connor.

Dirk married his childhood sweetheart and love of his life Grace (Bowman) and spent 40 years building a beautiful life side-by-side.

Dirk found the most pride as a Dad to his five children Nicholas (Laura) Connor of Coal City, Matt (Angela) Connor of Coal City, Jenni (Keith) Connor of Morris, Stephanie (Aydan) Connor of Crete and Jessie (Justin) Connor of Chicago.   Dirk was the adored Papa to his 7 grandchildren Addey, Mae, Nettie, Lily, Jack, Victoria, and Lincoln.

By profession, Dirk was a talented carpenter with a lifelong passion for building with skilled hands.  He was an avid hunter with a love of nature and spending time in the great outdoors.

Dirk lived life with an open home and an open heart to the many people he loved and who loved him.  Dirk’s immense love, his endless support, and his constant presence will be forever held in the hearts of his family.
