Obituary of Judith M. Bahret
On February 18, 2018, we all lost a mother.
Judith M. Bahret became a mom for the first time at age 19 and went on to raise 5 children—Jamie, Carrie, John, Suzie, Danny—and 2 step children—Heather and Bobby. She had 5 grandchildren—Connor, Riley, Ian, Aiden, and Lincoln. There was nothing, in all of her 61 years, that Judy was more proud of than her children.
But these were not the only sheep in Judy’s flock. She was a “second mom” to every friend of her own children. If you ask Jo, Josh, or Donna, they didn’t call Judy “Mrs. Bahret.” They called her “Mama B.” And it doesn’t stop there. Judy was like a mother to every child that climbed aboard her school bus during her years driving for the Channahon School District. She was a mother to the kids who sat down in her Sunday school class at Grace Bible Church. She was a mother to her many friends at Celebrate Recovery every Friday night at Minooka Bible Church. She was a mother to her 5 younger siblings, and there were 10 of them all together. That’s not a typo. 10 brothers and sisters. She was a mother and a wife to her loving husband William for 32 years. And she was a mother to the world’s fattest dog.
To say Judy Bahret was a light in this world is an overwhelming understatement. Judy was a sun. And to say she is survived by only her husband, kids and grandchildren is also a significant understatement. Judy is survived by all of her children. All 35,920 of us. Roughly.
Mama B, even without your sunshine, we’ll always remember its light.
We love you, now and forever.
