Ray & I met almost 40 years ago at a team meeting for service reps. Immediately I like Ray because he was knowledgeable and honest. I was the only person Ray would trust backing him up on service calls. Most of Ray's customers didn't want anybody else working on their equipment except Ray.
Ray & I would leave the office for our lunchtime walks at Bell & Howell. We always would laugh and sing down the hallways, "so long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, good bye, adieu, adieu".
Ray was also a good son who took care of his mother for many years, often putting his plans or desires on hold to take care of her. He was a kind and patient man.
I enjoyed all of our after work dinners with the guys we would go to, our camping trips, or out to California to visit another friend of ours.
We both liked to listen to car talk radio shows, discussing the topics and jokes from the show. Years later we would reminisce about these times on my visits to Ray in Shorewood.
So, my dear friend, I sing 1 last time to you,
"so long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, good bye, adieu, adieu".
