Obituary of Johnny Joe Holland
Johnny Joe “John” Holland, age 63, of Joliet, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center, with his family by his side.
Born August 4, 1954 in Fulton, KY, he was the son of the late Yandell and Virginia (nee Warren) Holland. He attended Benedictine University, Lisle, and worked over 40 years for Electro-Motive Diesel as a Senior Buyer.
John was an avid fisherman and golfer, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are his children, Michelle (Roxanne) Holland of Bolingbrook, Alex (Christine) Holland of Joliet, Andrew (Jennifer) Holland of Crest Hill, and Virginia (Jesse) Holland of Plainfield; four grandchildren, Ashlynn, Madelynn, Joe and Kenadi; one brother Thomas (Sandra) Holland of Plainfield; his step-mother, Mary Holland of Wingo, KY; his former wife, Sylvia Groves of Joliet; and many lifelong friends.
Visitation for John Holland will be held Friday, May 18, 2018 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet.
