My deepest condolences to anyone that knew Mike, he truly was a father figure to me since the start of my career. Anyone that knew him, knows how lucky they were to meet such an incredibe individual he was. Everyone knows how loving and endearing he was to anyone he meets. Mike was more than a father to me he was a true friend till the very end. I pray God makes this easy for everyone that has met him and that we always keep the good memories of his happy face, along with his blessed presence- God bless us all. You will truly be missed Mike.
Love always,
Your daughter Maneela

In some ways Mike was a larger than life person to those of us that worked for him or with him. He had a unique way of looking at things. My time working for him was very formative to me personally as well as my career. Mike had a little rebellious side, a lot of courage and much intuition. He was a game changer, a leader, always pushing us forward. Always making a difference at everything he did. Work is large part of life and after drama and years of working, nothing will leave a more lasting memory for many, than working with Mike. A good man. To the family, he loved to tell funny stories about the kids and sports. He was always kind of a private person, so he must have been very proud, to share those moments with us. Condolences and prayers to the family and all who knew Mike.

My heartfelt sympathies to the O’Connell family. The Essence of Success! Successful is the person who has lived well, laughed often, and has loved much. Who has gained the respect of children, who leaves the world better than they found it. Who has never lacked the appreciation for the earths beauty, and who has never failed to look for the best in others or given the best of themselves. The Essence of Mike O’Connell.

Mike touched the lives of so many.
He was a great leader and mentor.
He once said to me the sign of a good supervisor is someone who can step on your toes but still not mess up your shine. He was right.
My Deepest Sympathies.

So incredibly sorry to hear this news. Sending sincere condolences to the entire O'Connell clan. Mike was such a great leader and a role model for hundreds of us at TJX. Kindness, laughter, family and friends ...always first as he led by example. We'll never forget when he drove to Boston from Chicago after the tragic loss of our seven associates on September 11th, to attend their memorial service. He did so quietly, without fanfare, just to show his respects. I'm sure that his heart lives on in all of you.
With sympathy,
Toni and Michael Wallace
